Greetings, My name is Catherine, and I am a licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner in the states of Texas and New York. I have 2 years of experience in the field of psychiatry and family medicine. I am passionate about my career and especially passionate about helping others. I specialize in medication management for mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, OCD, and ADHD. I am located in Richmond, Texas, and provide telehealth services. I want to get to know you as an individual. I enjoy meeting new people and look forward to helping people accomplish their goals. I listen and I care. Let’s work together to come up with a plan to help get you back on the right track. I would love to discuss your options with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with a brief introduction and then dive into the specific challenges you're racing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strengths include empathetic listening, practicing with compassion, and being open-minded and knowledgeable while promoting a judgement-free environment. You can truly be yourself and relax.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, stress, burnout, ADHD, and life transitions. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or are struggling to balance relationships, work, school, or personal responsibilities. My approach is especially helpful for individuals seeking a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where they can openly discuss their concerns and feel heard. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to better understand themselves, improve coping skills, build emotional resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable changes in their lives. I also work with clients who are exploring medication management as part of their treatment plan and value a provider who combines evidence-based psychiatric care with empathy, education, and supportive therapy. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, improve daily functioning, and move toward greater emotional stability and overall wellness.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I frequently incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles into my clinical practice when working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, adjustment disorders, and stress-related concerns. While providing medication management, I also utilize brief CBT interventions to help patients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My approach to CBT is collaborative, goal-oriented, and patient-centered. I begin by helping patients identify unhelpful thought patterns, cognitive distortions, and behavioral responses that may be contributing to emotional distress. Through guided exploration and psychoeducation, I support patients in challenging negative beliefs, developing more balanced thinking patterns, and implementing healthier coping strategies. I often use CBT techniques such as: Identifying and reframing cognitive distortions (e.g., catastrophizing, all-or-nothing thinking) Thought records and cognitive restructuring Behavioral activation for depression Problem-solving skills training Stress management and relaxation techniques Exposure-based strategies for anxiety when clinically appropriate Developing coping skills and relapse prevention plans I tailor CBT interventions to each patient's needs, readiness for change, cultural background, and treatment goals. I believe that empowering patients with practical tools they can use between sessions increases self-efficacy and promotes long-term symptom management. In my practice, I view CBT as a valuable complement to medication management. By combining evidence-based psychotherapy techniques with pharmacologic treatment when indicated, I help patients achieve meaningful improvements in functioning, resilience, and overall quality of life.

Cathrine has done a great job listening to all of the issues presented, being direct, and staying consistent, which has been wonderful. I've had issues with previous providers being reliably available but that hasn't been the case with Catherine.
