Greetings! My name is Courtney Snow. I am an art psychotherapist with credentials as a Registered, Board Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults and families within behavioral health agencies, community outreach programs, educational settings, residential and outpatient programs. I am experienced in treating individuals who have substance use disorders, developmental disorders, thought disorders, complex trauma, emotional disturbances, unresolved grief, and relationship issues. Through an integrative, humanistic approach, I will utilize a creative modalities through art materials to assist you towards connecting to your feelings and needs, release emotional distress, increase insight and awareness which can promote healing and resiliency. Artmaking is a nonverbal, universal language that has the power to speak with imagery and can transform maladaptive thinking. Art is a deeply personalized form of self-expression and it can increase the awareness of self, identify intrapersonal worth and purpose, increase coping, and find meaning in one’s life. One does not require artistic experience to enjoy this practice and each art-based directive is empathically tailored to your needs. If art therapy is not for your--that's okay! I am also trained in other talk-therapy modalities as a trauma-informed, DBT-informed, and mindfulness clinician.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can expect to have a personalized therapy experience beyond typical talk-therapy. You will learn to tap into your innate resources to create a life that has meaning in space that is nonjudgmental. We all have the potential to heal and recover and taking this step is honorable. Let's meet and work together!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Art therapy, mindfulness techniques, person-centered treatment, trauma-informed, CBT & DBT interventions, reality orienting, exposure and response prevention, grief counseling, compassion focused, culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ allied, phase of life issues, perinatal informed, and experienced in treating postpartum mood disorders.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I also use creative expression for healing in my life. It has helped me express emotions and gain insight in ways which I could not articulate verbally. I love to use co-regulation and interactive art exercises as ways to to get to know the people I treat, as well as build our relationship together.
