Sofia Kovacevic

3 years of experience

I am Sofia Kovacevic, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I have been working with adults, children, and adolescents for three years in both telemental, outpatient, and private practice settings. I graduated from St. John's University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program with a MS.ED. I help individuals meet their goals and needs, whether that be exploring their past trauma, gaining emotional regulation skills, gaining communication skills, increasing self-esteem, increasing self-care, etc.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

At first session, clients can expect to introduce themselves, tell me more about what brings them to therapy, explore some of their past history, so that they can start setting goals and we can work together to create a plan that is tailored to help them reach their needs and goals. The main goal of first session is to establish a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients feel comfortable opening up to me, we are building rapport with one another, and a good therapeutic working relationship with my clients.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider are active listening, empathizing with clients, helping them find the root cause of their issues, and creating an individualized plan with clients that is tailored to their needs and goals.

My treatment methods

I don't believe in just one treatment approach, every client is individualized and will utilize whatever is going to get the client's goals and needs met.
