I have over 20 years of counseling experience working with diverse individuals from young children to seniors. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, transitions, self destructive behaviors, codependency among others, so that you can overcome the blocks that keep you from living the life you deserve. I use an integrated and collaborative approach created to meet the unique needs of each individual while establishing a safe environment conducive to achieving goals, and moving forward. I believe that true change happens when people are given the support they need in order to draw upon their own strengths to realize their full potential. I am very passionate about the work I do, compassionate, and believe that with dedication and commitment, you can live the fulfilling life you know is awaiting you. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am completely invested in the people with whom I work. After a session, you can definitely expect to feel supported and cared for, as well as learn and/or discover something. As we continue, you will experience small subtle changes, which over time, contribute to feeling happier through the tools you've learned as well as the work you do. I'm very proactive with clients and offer homework, and will discuss small goals for reaching larger ones so we can make true progress towards what you want from therapy. I will also sometimes utilize breathing techniques, as well as meditation, if that's something you're comfortable with. Therapy is all about you and it works. It requires patience, time, and effort, and with this, you can truly experience change.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize a variety of treatment methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, yoga poses, mindfulness strategies, and others which optimize growth and healing for each individual. As noted earlier, I will sometimes integrate breathing techniques which we can do together, as well as meditation. I may suggest any number of books, YouTube videos or podcasts. Each person is different, so we use the tools that are most effective for you. I'm also constantly learning additional treatment methods as well which I will update here accordingly.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work with many clients that have depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress syndrome (including complex PTSD-CPTSD), childhood trauma, social anxiety, low self-esteem and self-worth, relationship difficulties, communication, and codependency, to name a few. Together, we'll explore some of your experiences to gain a better understanding about how they may be affecting you today and with the appropriate treatment method for you, overcome what you may feel you could not change in order to be free from those things that have kept you from living a more fulfilling life.
