Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Virginia with 5 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults. I specialize in helping individuals navigate life's challenges, with a focus on family relationships and conflicts. While my primary experience is with younger populations, I am passionate about supporting people of all ages in improving their emotional well-being and fostering healthier relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions and any questions you may have about therapy. We'll then dive into the specific challenges you're facing in order for us to create a personalized plan to guide us for future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I strive to create a down-to-earth and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable and heard. I approach our work together without judgment, bringing empathy and understanding to every session. My passion lies in helping people improve their lives, and I’m committed to being flexible in how we approach your unique needs. I believe in empowering you to take an active role in your therapy, helping you build the tools and confidence you need to make meaningful changes in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the theory that our thoughts influence our feelings and behaviors. We all have negative thoughts about ourselves and the world around us, however sometimes it can be difficult to turn those thoughts off. Utilizing CBT therapy, we learn and practice thought stopping techniques to help us quiet our mind, challenge our beliefs, and change our thoughts so that we can take back control of our feelings and behaviors.

Strength-Based

In a strengths-based therapy approach, we focus on what’s going right in your life, rather than just the problems. We work together to identify your strengths—things you're good at, past successes, and qualities that have helped you get through tough times. We work towards reframing challenges by focusing on how those strengths can help you deal with future issues. We set goals that play to your abilities, and we celebrate the small wins. Overall, we work towards helping you feel empowered, making you more capable and positive about making changes in your life.

EMDR

In our therapy sessions, I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help you process past traumatic experiences. Through guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, we work together to reframe negative memories and beliefs. This process helps reduce distress and allows your mind to heal and move forward. EMDR is a gentle yet powerful tool that can bring relief from trauma, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.

Supportive

Life can be really, really hard sometimes and it can feel as if we're navigating these issues all alone. Sometimes we just need supportive therapy to help us process and navigate the hard seasons of life. Supportive therapy often includes reassurance, reeducation, advice, persuasion, re-motivation, and encouragement of desirable behaviors.

Family Therapy

In family therapy, we work together with all members of the family to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships. We explore patterns of behavior and dynamics that may be affecting the family’s well-being. We create a safe, supportive space where each person can express themselves openly and feel heard. Through this collaborative approach, we work together to build healthier, more positive connections within the family.
