Nisreen Abuhadid
Hi, I’m a therapist who is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with support, compassion, and practical tools for growth. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe being themselves and working through difficult emotions, relationship struggles, stress, anxiety, or life transitions. My approach is collaborative and down-to-earth, and I believe therapy should feel supportive, empowering, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and experiences.
First session
During the first session, my goal is to create a comfortable and supportive space where you can begin sharing your story at your own pace. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, the challenges you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll also ask questions about your background, relationships, stressors, and strengths so I can better understand you as a whole person, not just the difficulties you’re facing. The first session is also an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine whether the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit. You can expect a conversation that feels collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental rather than overly clinical or pressured. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and discussing ways therapy can support you moving forward.
Strengths
What stands out most about my approach is that I strive to make therapy feel genuine, supportive, and practical. I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable being honest, understood, and accepted without judgment. I know that opening up can be difficult, so I work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for each person. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth. I combine evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with empathy, curiosity, and real-life problem solving to help clients better understand themselves, improve relationships, and develop healthier coping skills. Rather than simply talking about problems, I help clients identify patterns, build insight, and practice tools they can actually use outside of sessions. Clients often appreciate that I balance emotional support with practical guidance. My goal is to help people feel not only heard, but also empowered and more confident in navigating challenges, communicating effectively, and creating meaningful change in their lives.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals, couples, and families who are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, stressed, or disconnected and are looking for support in making meaningful changes in their lives or relationships. Many of the people I work with are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, communication issues, self-esteem challenges, parenting stress, or major life transitions that leave them feeling uncertain or emotionally drained. I especially enjoy working with clients who want a therapist who feels approachable, supportive, and real. I know therapy can feel intimidating at first, so I focus on creating a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. I try to meet people where they are, while helping them better understand their emotions, patterns, and relationships in a way that feels practical and manageable.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a practical and supportive approach to help clients better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors affect one another. In my work, I’ve used CBT with individuals, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship stress, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, and everyday stressors.
