Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida. I received my Masters from the University of South Florida and have been practicing for 4 years after spending 20 years in the education field. I have a background in education, healthcare, end of life care, student support and advocacy for students with 504 Plan accommodations and in home therapy for a community program.
In our first session together, we'll start with getting to know each other then explore the specific areas that are challenging you in your daily life and overall feelings. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I provide active listening, empathy, mindfulness as well as I strive to fully understand my clients' experience and journey to bring them to our first session. I like to laugh and show optimism in my sessions. You will often see a dog and/or a cat walking around behind me.
In my 4+ years in learning and developing my own practiced skills and perspectives, I have a unique style of therapy. I provide talk based therapy that includes positive and optimistic outlooks in problem solving. I utilize my backgrounds in education and clinical healthcare to listen, support and guide others to explore the outcome that works best for their own needs.
I love working with children and adults who are navigating the school environment to support their advocacy for their educational needs to be met. I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years and I have worked with chronic and acute adults for continuity of care and services for their pre and post discharge needs. I have experience in providing and coordinating support for adults with their skilled needs either at home or in a skilled nursing environment. I have traveled the journey of infertility, grief and loss on a personal level. I have over 20 years experience working in several medical areas such as intensive care, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiac care, family medicine, Hospice services, and more.
Have you ever woken up and thought ‘life is too hard today and I just want to stay in bed’ or asked yourself ‘why do I need to get up’ each day? Maybe you have been scared or avoided making changes due to being stuck in the same thought patterns. You may be experiencing the feeling of burn out, stress, anxiousness and possibly frustration. I can provide encouragement and unconditional support as we take this journey together and collaborate to overcome these struggles. Let’s move forward as a TEAM to create a reassuring and nonjudgemental change in your daily outlook that is built on setting achievable goals for a more meaningful life. When you are prepared to leave the feelings of stress and discomfort at the door, I am prepared to help. Schedule our first session and let’s begin this journey together!
When providing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help clients build psychological flexibility by guiding them to accept difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions aligned with their values. With a foundation in empathy and active listening, I support clients in making space for emotional discomfort without judgment, fostering a deeper sense of self-awareness and resilience. My mindfulness-based approach complements ACT beautifully, allowing clients to observe their inner experiences with compassion rather than resistance. Together, we clarify what truly matters to them and work toward meaningful change, empowering clients to live more fully and authentically—even in the presence of life’s challenges.
In my person-centered approach to therapy, I prioritize creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. I believe that each individual has the capacity for growth and healing when provided with the right environment—one rooted in empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. Through active listening and a deep respect for each client's lived experience, I foster a collaborative relationship that honors their inner wisdom and autonomy. My grounding in mindfulness further enhances this approach, helping clients tune into their thoughts and emotions with curiosity and compassion. By meeting clients exactly where they are, I support them in exploring their identity, values, and goals at a pace that feels safe and empowering.
