First session
You've taken the first steps to bettering your life. Starting with a new provider to discuss your feelings can be an overwhelming experience. Our relationship starts from the moment we meet and when we do, I will make sure you feel seen and heard without judgement. We will discuss treatment options as well. I will also make sure you are informed of any important house keeping rules so there are no surprises down the road. I will typically ask what it is that brought you to be seen and what you would like to get out of our time together. I am a compassionate listener and I may ask questions as we go along in our sessions to ensure I understand correctly so that I can help you in the best way I know how. For the most part my goal is to build a space where you feel safe to explore whatever it is that brought you here.
Strengths
I believe my greatest strength is my ability to listen with empathy, compassion and balance medication management alongside. I consider it a privilege to enter into someone's story and walk alongside of them to provide support, encouragement and direction in their unique and personal journey.
Ideal clients
My passion is working with adolescence to adulthood as this can be a very trying time with lots of changes both physical and emotional. I enjoy the challenge of helping clients make sense of their feelings and emotions in a empathetic and relatable way along with finding the appropriate medication for each individual.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Are you feeling depressed or anxious? It is a helpful modality for depression and anxiety. We’ll use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. In combination with the right medication, we’ll then use that knowledge help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
Gottman method
Are you having difficulty in family, peer or intimate relationships? I lean in to the Gottman Method when working with clients who are having difficulty with relationships. It focuses on increasing closeness and friendship behaviors, addressing conflict productively and building connections. In combination with the suitable antidepressant or antianxiety medicine, you will have a better outlook on your life and relationships in it.
