I have worked in the behavioral health field for over 23 years, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am a licensed mental health professional in multiple states. I have earned progressively higher leadership responsibilities throughout my career, including providing clinical and executive leadership. Additionally, I have been providing telehealth services and striving to improve access to quality behavioral health services across the country since 2015. I have been fortunate to gain experience in diverse areas and feel I am equipped to help people with a variety of issues. I received a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from McKendree University.
During the first session I like to get to know you, gather some background information, and discuss what we would like to work on together.
I am passionate about helping individuals of all backgrounds with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, ADHD, addiction, and trauma. I utilize primarily interpersonal therapy, cognitive, cognitive behavioral and trauma informed approaches in my practice.
Throughout much of my career I was able to find a significant amount of experience managing crises, working with severe mental illness and addiction, and providing leadership to other clinicians. Utilizing evidence based approaches, I will strive to help you in areas such as improving your mood, reducing distress, managing anxiety, improving interpersonal relationships, enhancing social functioning, improving communication and conflict resolution, dealing with past trauma, and generally improving your ability to cope effectively. I often find that examining the connection between how you think, how you feel, and how you behave leads to identifying the keys to positive change.
