Megan Saunders
I’m a licensed therapist and have been a school counselor for 8 years, supporting adolescents through challenges like anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I use evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Solution-Focused strategies, tailored to each client’s needs. My goal is to provide a safe, collaborative space where clients can build skills, gain insight, and create meaningful change in their lives.
First session
In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and talk about what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your background, current challenges, and goals so we can start shaping a plan together. This session is also your opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of how we’ll work together, so it’s very collaborative and focused on your comfort.
Strengths
My greatest strengths lie in creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space while using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client. I’m skilled at helping clients build practical coping skills, navigate emotions, and achieve meaningful change, whether through CBT, DBT, EMDR, or Solution-Focused strategies.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are those who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, or challenges in school and relationships. I work best with individuals who are motivated to build coping skills, explore solutions, and make meaningful changes in their lives.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I regularly use CBT in my practice to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I incorporate tools like cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation to support symptom reduction and build practical coping skills.
EMDR
I incorporate EMDR to support clients in reducing trauma-related distress and developing more adaptive responses. The process combines resourcing, memory reprocessing, and bilateral stimulation to facilitate meaningful change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to help clients build concrete skills in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. I focus on balancing validation with change-oriented strategies to support more effective coping.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused techniques to help clients identify strengths, clarify goals, and build on what’s already working. The approach centers on creating practical, achievable steps toward positive change.
