I've been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), board certified art therapist (ATR-BC), and certified alcohol and drug counselor (CAADC) for the past 5 years. As a therapist it's my desire to build a positive relationship with individuals and then help you to use multiple tools to help individuals find peace, walk through difficult times/traumas, and build a future that feels good for you based on your wants and desires.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During your first session you can expect us to review mandated reporting/limitations to privacy/and what it looks like and means to have an active hand in your own therapy, what my role as a therapist may look like, what expectations from you as a consumer may look like, we'll create a plan for treatment, and we'll review any questions you may have. My style of therapy is that I'm a real person, and use humor as well as metaphors in my sessions. If you like someone who will engage in conversation as well as listen to you, I may be a good fit for you.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I feel my greatest strengths as a therapist are empathy, consistency, and attentiveness. I'm constantly looking to learn new techniques and help people with additional tools.
