New to Grow
Hello, I'm Andre'a Coleman. As a licensed clinical social worker I possess a deep conviction and passion for helping others find their voice and identity. I have 10 years of experience in the social work field as a community worker, therapist, and director. The last decade I have worked with youth, families, adults, and couples. My appreciation for the uniqueness of each person helps me tailor therapeutic tools, skills, and responses to each client. I enjoy listening and learning about people so that I can help them find resolve for what they are facing in life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect a relaxed and genuine discussion where we can begin to know each other, and work together to identify the goals that are important to you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength is the ability to be relatable and connect with people. As a therapist I have the ability to see and understand the underlying reasons why some behaviors are manifesting through clients. Clients find that I see them, while hearing what they are saying and not saying.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to serve clients who find themselves feeling stressed and overwhelmed at times due to anxiousness, recalling past trauma, and relationship issues. My clients are in a space where they desire to know and understand themselves on a deeper level, and create patterns of change that will propel them forward.
Trauma Informed Care
In my former role as a foster care clinician I supported youth and families with complex trauma backgrounds by implementing trauma informed care. In addition to this, my years as a therapist in private practice has afforded me opportunities to help adolescents and adults process, navigate, and heal from their childhood trauma that causes some anxiety and depression.
Racial trauma treatment
Through my years in private practice, I have created safe spaces for clients to feel comfortable enough to process and navigate the emotional impacts of racial trauma.
Faith based therapy
For clients who desire it, I incorporate spiritual practices and faith perspectives into therapy. This has been one of my specialties as I identify as a Christian counselor.
