In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I like to offer what a client can expect from the therapy process. Whether you have experience with therapy or not, it helps manage any anxiety to understand my style and approach. I am also a very detailed clinician, so the first few sessions is gaining a comprehensive understanding of your areas of concern. With this, I can created a tailored approach to meet all of your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I would say the level of comfort and ease I bring to the process. As a person, I would describe myself as trusting and non-judgmental and I find that it comes through in the way I conduct therapy. Building a good rapport is extremely important to me, therapy can be overwhelming as it is. My style brings a sense of peace of mind, as well as comfort.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have 10 years of experience with using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I find this modality to be such an excellent approach, as it allows clients to take what we are working on in therapy and effectively translate the work to their every day to day lives. I utilize CBT first by proving psycho education to the client with what the approach is and what to expect from it. Additionally, I tailor CBT to the client and how they would best gain from it both in the therapy space as well as outside of it.

Couples Counseling

I have extensive experience with couples therapy. During session, the couple dynamic is considered the client. However, I also say that a couple consists of two individual people who have their own individualized experience with life, relationships, coping skills and trauma. During couples therapy, you can expect not only assessing the conflicts within the relationship but exploring how each individual experience plays a role in the conflict as well as the solution.

Family Therapy

I have done family therapy since the beginning of my career. There are several different reasons family therapy is an important part of my practice. For starters, so much of what we struggle with as individuals could originated from childhood. Additionally, individual struggles could impact our family dynamics; as well as could be a source of trigger. Families are also a huge part of the support system. I received training for attachment based family therapy, a successful modality that sees family work not just within the family structure but explores the generational influence/ multigenerational trauma as well.

Psychoanalytic

I find it is hard to get to the core source of how we operate without the use of this method. This has been a key part of my practice to understand our WHY. This happens through exploring our motives through childhood experiences, the conscious and unconscious mind. Essentially, “ what is under the water past the tip of the iceberg” to help process what shapes our choices, behavior and personality traits. During session I help peel back the layers and dive deeper to gain understanding for long lasting change.

Attachment-based

Attachment base and attachment styles play such a role in not only how we form relationships, but how we interact with them. To better understand our role in interpersonal dynamics, it is helpful to understand how and why we attach to others. It is a key method to understanding not only external relationships, but understanding the relationship you have with yourself.
