I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) registered in the state of California. I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. I have been practicing for 7 years with experiences from both community mental health and private practice settings. I have expertise with diverse backgrounds and various ages, including children and adolescents, to couples, families, and adults. I have experience working with clients with their depression, anxiety, trauma, anger management, stress management (i.e., career stress and burnout), relationship issues, self-esteem, substance use, parenting, and all other problems that affect an individual's mental and emotional health. I am knowledgeable in various therapeutic approaches that helps me utilize appropriate interventions that meets the client's needs and maximizes a client's strengths.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I'd like to think of it as a "get to know each other" session where we'll have brief introductions before exploring specific challenges and problems you are dealing with and which areas in your life are affected. Together, we will collaborate in setting your goals in therapy such as your short-term and long-term goals in your life. This process will help me develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs and caters to your strengths for us to work through in our future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and various ages in the past 7 years has helped me understand each person's unique challenges and strengths. I believe my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to build rapport with clients, having an open-mind, being versatile, and having self-awareness. These strengths have allowed me to build great and healthy relationships with my clients, but most importantly, be a part of a client's journey in reaching their therapy goals and improving the quality of their life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, identity confusion, career stress, self-esteem, burnout, and other problems that affect a person's mental and emotional health. In collaboration with the client, I work on their goals in therapy to foster personal growth and development that leads to improvement on different areas of their life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Helping individuals develop healthier thought patterns by increasing awareness of negative and often unrealistic or maladaptive thoughts. Providing psychoeducation on the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This awareness will allow individuals to challenge and alter these thoughts and irrational beliefs, leading to improved quality of mood and emotions, and decision-making. Clients will learn adaptive strategies to manage and solve current problems, enhance emotional regulation, and resilience, to help improve quality of life and maintain progress beyond therapy sessions.

Psychodynamic

Enhancing an individual's self-awareness and understanding of one's thoughts, feelings, and beliefs in relation to their past experiences, with emphasis on their childhood experiences. Guiding clients through reflection and examination of unresolved conflicts and significant events in their past. Therapist's role is to aid clients to develop insight in order to connect the dots between their past experiences and current problems, gain an understanding of how these patterns came to be, in order to utilize internal resources to address these problems.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Assisting clients through constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. This approach helps clients evaluate their default solution patterns in order to modify or replace them with a more effective problem-solving approaches.
