I earned my Masters in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University and am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist by the state of California. I have been practicing for 10 years. I am certified as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I have experience effectively addressing anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, and relationship concerns.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, after introducing ourselves, I review forms and answer any questions you may have regarding therapy and the process. I then move into gathering information to get a clear picture of what is going on. Lastly, I focus on working collaboratively to create goals for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My curiosity and eagerness to learn new things helps me create an environment for the client to also become curious of emerging thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations as we work together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

If you feel overwhelmed or stuck in a cycle of unhelpful thoughts, emotions, and actions, I am here to help you become aware of how they are connected and come up with healthier thoughts, emotions, and actions leading to a better outlook on life. I also work with clients to help them understand trauma and helping change how the mind and body remembers it.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I mainly use CBT in the treatment of clients with anxiety and depression. I like to help clients think about their own way of thinking and how their thoughts are affecting their emotions and behaviors.

Trauma Informed Care

I like to provide psychoeducation on trauma and its symptoms. That way the client understands why they feel and behave the way they do. I also like to incorporate mindfulness and somatic interventions to help clients manage their triggers and start to regain control over their lives.

Somatic

I help clients focus or pay attention to physical sensations, movements, and the way their bodies respond to situations. By doing this, clients learn how their emotions, patterns, and past experiences might be affecting them. This is especially true for clients with trauma and/or attachment issues.
