I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, receiving my Master's in Social Work from East Carolina University in 2009. I have provided support to children, adolescents, their families, and adults since 2003. Some of my specialty areas include depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship issues, behavioral concerns, trauma, Mood Disorders, and ADHD. I am passionate about helping women, parents raising adolescents and/or foster children, and young adults. I have two boys, one who just turned 20 years old and one who is a Senior in high school. My oldest is on the Autism Spectrum and my youngest has ADHD. As a mom, I understand parenting can be tough and is very unique to the child. As a parent, I am also entering that transition stage and truly understand all the emotions that come along with the transition. I am a Bible-believing Christian and have learned along the way there is nothing too big for God to help us through.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I provide a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings while guiding you to sustainable solutions for you. I will encourage you to practice skills and/or tools between each session. Each session we will discuss what worked and what didn't work so that we can create the best outcome for you.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My counseling style is a strengths-based approach and I use a collaborative problem-solving approach to help tackle life’s challenges. I utilized a variety of evidence-based practices to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focus, Motivational Interviewing, and others. I have adapted tools for the Telehealth platform and welcome an interactive platform to best support you!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Some of my biggest strengths include walking the walk. Life is a journey and we all have different challenges that we face. Most of the tools and interventions I discuss I utilize and/or I have seen the benefits of use by many clients. I am a compassionate and empathetic listener. I realize that you are the expert of your life and that you are aware of what works and what does not work. I come alongside you to offer an objective hearing to ask guided questions to develop the tools that you already have and/or utilize new strategies to manage life's stressors.
