Experienced working with adolescents, couples and adults experiencing a variety of challenges including trauma, anxiety, depression, adoption-related concerns, relationship issues, grief and parenting issues. I utilize a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, DBT and Family therapy to assist people in working towards building healthy relationships and learning to cope with stressful life events in healthy ways. Prior experience includes Military Family Life Counselor, Clinical therapist at a Residential treatment center for adolescents, Private practice and clinical work in an injury and pain clinic.
Our first session it is about me getting to know you and how I can best help you. Getting a history, figuring out what your goals for therapy are and coming up with a plan to get you feel better.
I use a multilevel approach. I am not a one-size-fits-all counselor. I use many different modalities to assist each need. From CBT, DBT, Rogierian to Solution-Focused. I will offer various strategies and tools to assist you.
I have a passion for people and helping them on their journey. We all go through difficulties but you don't have to do it alone. I am caring, genuine, compassionate and encouraging. I will supply a supportive, validating environment to assist you in your growth and help you face life's many challenges.
