(she/her)
Welcome! I'm Alyssa. I am Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) located in California. Sometimes things in life do not go according to plan. When we try to make positive changes or battle the challenges presented to us sometimes having a neutral, understanding, and open minded person to talk to can make all the difference. I have experience in helping clients of all ages navigate through personal issues that come up and interfere with everyday living. I believe that every person is equipped with strengths necessary to succeed in all areas of their lives and I enjoy supporting people in identifying what these are. My first goal is always to make people feel comfortable, cared for, and supported. I enjoy working together with individuals to identify personal strengths and accumulate tools for lasting change.
In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and go over any questions and concerns. We will go over consents forms and logistics. In addition, we will talk about needs and challenges that may be present and explore goals and expectations. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My biggest strength is my ability to connect with my clients and provide them a safe, nonjudgmental, and respectful environment to work through their issues. I enjoy integrating humor and creativity within the therapeutic relationship when appropriate.
I specialize in helping individuals with stress and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions and self-esteem issues. I firmly believe that every individual has unique strengths and capabilities that can help them overcome challenges.
