What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
It is my intention to create a trusting relationship that will allow you to feel comfortable with sharing your story. As we begin our therapeutic alliance, we will establish goals as well as an individualized plan to begin our journey together, towards an emotionally and mentally healthier you. We will process thoughts and feelings about current stressors, work to increase coping strategies to address them, and challenge any negative thought processes that may interfere with achieving goals. Also, we will address any unresolved issues that may contribute to unhealthy thoughts patterns and behaviors.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
Although I am eclectic in the therapeutic approaches I use, the counseling I provide is individualized to uniquely fit each person. I have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), along with coping skills and other evidence-based techniques. I would like to work with you to help strengthen your self-awareness which I hope will empower you to become a healthier you. Let's get started!
