(she/her)
Hi my name is Abby and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over five years of experience. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, grief, caregiving responsibilities, or navigating a major health diagnosis, you don’t have to go through it alone. I help adults process complex emotions and life transitions by creating a supportive space grounded in compassion, cultural awareness, and practical tools. Tambien hablo Espanol! With over five years of experience as a medical social worker—I bring a deep understanding of how mental health intersects with chronic illness, family dynamics, and life-changing events. In our sessions, we’ll work together to explore your unique story, identify what’s holding you back, and help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish and strive to meet clients exactly where they are—with warmth, patience, and genuine respect for their lived experience. If you’re looking for a therapist who can help you cope with stress, set boundaries, or make sense of difficult life changes, I’d be honored to support you.
Our first session is a chance for you to share your story at your own pace. I’ll ask a few guided questions to better understand your needs, challenges, and goals for therapy—but you won’t be rushed or expected to have everything figured out. Together, we’ll begin identifying what’s most important to you and explore what support would feel most helpful. My goal in that first session is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and judgment-free so you can start the process of healing and growth with confidence.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to hold space for difficult emotions—especially during health crises, grief, or moments of transition—while also helping clients take actionable steps forward. My background in medical and palliative care has taught me how to navigate complexity with empathy and clarity. I blend clinical skills with real-world experience, using approaches like CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy to help clients feel grounded and empowered. I’m also bilingual in Spanish and experienced in culturally responsive care, which allows me to support a wider range of clients in the ways that feel most authentic to them.
I work best with adults navigating life changes, health-related stress, caregiver burnout, anxiety, or grief. Many of my clients are managing complex emotions that come with life stressors—either their own or a loved one’s—and are looking for a calm, grounded space to process and find clarity. I also support individuals facing identity shifts due to caregiving, relationship changes, or trauma. Whether you’re feeling emotionally stuck, overwhelmed by your responsibilities, or just ready to explore new ways of coping, I help you reconnect with your values and take practical steps toward a more centered, meaningful life. I specialize in working with both English- and Spanish-speaking clients who appreciate warmth, patience, and a direct yet gentle approach.
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore ambivalence and build confidence around making meaningful changes in their lives. This approach is especially helpful when you’re feeling stuck or unsure about a decision. Rather than pushing solutions, I guide you in uncovering your own motivations, values, and readiness for change—so that the steps you take truly come from within.
Mindfulness is a key part of how I help clients manage anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional distress. Whether through grounding exercises, breathwork, or awareness-building, I support you in staying present with your thoughts and emotions—without judgment. These practices can help you respond more calmly to stress, regulate your nervous system, and develop greater self-awareness over time.
I have extensive experience supporting clients through grief, whether from the death of a loved one, a health diagnosis, or life transitions that bring a sense of loss. In our work together, I create a space where your grief can be expressed openly and fully. I honor the unique pace and shape of your experience, helping you process the pain while also rediscovering moments of meaning, connection, and hope.
Narrative Therapy allows us to explore the stories you tell yourself—about who you are, what you’ve been through, and what’s possible moving forward. I help clients reframe unhelpful narratives and reclaim a sense of identity that reflects their values and strengths. This approach is especially empowering for people who feel defined by past experiences, illness, or external expectations.
ACT helps clients accept what’s out of their control while committing to actions that move them toward a meaningful life. In therapy, I’ll help you identify what truly matters to you, and we’ll work together to develop the skills needed to face difficult emotions with openness instead of avoidance. This approach is especially helpful for those navigating anxiety, chronic illness, or major life changes.
