New to Grow
Do you have trouble getting through the day, feeling tired or discouraged? Maybe you’re going through the motions but aren’t sure why. Many people I work with have felt overwhelmed, stressed, or just stuck. You may have found temporary coping skills that have worked to get you this far. But life’s about more than just surviving each day with the least amount of pain. I help people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and stress, and are ready for a change. I believe you have a purpose and deserve to experience a more fulfilling life. You can learn to stop fighting and become more excited and hopeful about the future.
In your first session, you can expect a supportive and collaborative space where we begin getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and any relevant background so I can better understand your experiences and goals. We’ll also talk about what you hope to get out of therapy and begin outlining a plan that feels helpful and aligned with your needs. There’s no pressure to share everything at once as this session is about starting the process at your own pace and helping you feel comfortable and heard.
I provide a safe and open environment where you can explore your needs and values. I take an integrative approach to help you look at your experiences in a different way. You can learn to notice more and react less to everyday triggers. You’ll begin making choices that align with what matters most.
My ideal client is an adult navigating anxiety, depression, and/or relational difficulties at home and in the workplace. These issues could be caused by workplace stress, difficulties with work/family transitions, existential issues, identity issues, health issues, etc... I work best with clients who are highly motivated to change and is willing to be consistent with the work needed for change.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop psychological flexibility. By working with clients to identify their core values, I help clients align their lives with their values through acceptance and mindfulness.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that cause distress in their lives. I work with clients to reframe cognitive distortions and develop healthier thinking patterns.
