(she/her)
Hi, I'm Alisia. I am a licensed therapist with over 20 years of experience of helping adults, teenagers, and children move through pain, loss, anxiety, sadness, and trauma toward a place of hope and healing. I have specific focus on supporting women through life transitions, anxiety and emotionally abusive relationships. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected from themselves and others. Whether you are going through a life transition, navigating a difficult relationship, or still carrying the weight of past trauma, you don't have to walk through it alone. Often, the women that I work with feel drained from always putting others first, struggle with self-doubt and people pleasing. I specialize in helping women break free from patterns of codependency, emotional manipulation, or suffering from narcissistic abuse. Our work together can help you rebuild self-trust, set healthy boundaries, and reconnect with who you are and not just who others need you to be. Therapy can be a space where you reclaim your voice and reconnect with your worth. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma informed. I draw from evidenced based methods like CBT, inner child work, mindfulness and attachment-based therapy. I always tailor therapy to fit your unique story, strengths, and goals. If faith or spirituality is part of your identity, I am happy to incorporate that into our work as well. Healing is possible. You deserve to feel safe, seen, and strong again. Let's talk. I'd be honored to walk with you.
In the first session, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and not judged. We will spend time talking about what brings you to therapy, what's been weighing on you, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I will ask some background questions to better understand your story, but we will move at a pace that is best for you. Thera is no pressure to share anything that you are not ready to share. This session is about building trust, getting to know one another's, and starting to create a road map toward healing and meaningful for change. You can expect warmth, respect, and collaboration every step of the way.
My greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a space where clients feel deeply seen, safe, and understood -often for the first time. I bring grounded, compassionate presence to each session while helping client gently confront the patterns and beliefs that keep them stuck. My therapeutic approach blends evidence-based methods like CBT, mindfulness, and trauma informed care with insight-oriented work that helps clients connect with their inner strength and self-worth. I specialize in helping women recover from codependency, emotional abuse and burnout, guiding them to set healthier boundaries, break generational patterns, and build a more peaceful and authentic life. What often stands out about my work is how deeply personal and empowering the process feels and clients frequently say they leave sessions feeling lighter, clearer, and more in control of their lives.
My ideal clients are women who feel emotionally exhausted from constantly giving but rarely receiving support in return. They may struggle with codependency, anxiety, low self-worth, or the lasting effects of emotionally abusive relationships. Many have spent years caring for others while ignoring their own needs and now feel ready to reclaim their voice, rebuild boundaries, and reconnect with themselves. I especially enjoy working with women in midlife transitions, divorce recovery, or those navigating the aftereffects of childhood emotional neglect. My clients are often sensitive, self-aware, and ready for change even if they feel scared, stuck, or unsure where to begin. If you are ready to break unhealthy patterns, find emotional clarity, and start feeling more confident and connected, I would be honored to support you.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 18 years. It’s helped many clients challenge reoccurring thoughts, manage their anxiety and take control of negative thinking. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
I’ve been using Solution Focused Brief Therapy in my practice for the past 18 years. It’s helped dozens of clients directly address problems and create a plan to resolve it. We’ll use SFBT to identify patterns and barriers to achieving solutions and develop strategies to clarify and achieve solutions.
Traditional psychoeducation promotes collaboration between individuals and therapists by providing knowledge, empowerment, increase and improve understanding and communication. This collaboration leads to better outcomes and more person centered care. I utilize psychoeducation in this manner in my practice.
Mindfulness based therapy is an approach that incorporates mindfulness practices to promote psychological well being, reduce distress, and enhance self awareness. This practice of mindfulness helps cultivate compassion, non judgement toward personal experiences leading to better functioning and overall mental health. I use this to assist clients with stress reduction, emotional regulation, increased self awareness, improved concentration and focus, increase resilience, and improve relationships.
Play therapy allows for therapeutic bonds to grow and inner feelings to be shared and explored. Coping strategies, creative problem solving, social skills building can all take place with use of this method. It is client centered and allows child to be in control of process.
