Hello, my name is Carla. Are you having difficulty with getting through the day without feeling sadness, anxiety, stress, difficulty maintaining meaningful relationships, overwhelming frustration so much so that its difficult to enjoy life or simply balance day to day life? Are you struggling to feel good about yourself? If you are reading this profile you have made a brave step in the direction of taking care of YOU and that's huge. It can be hard to seek therapy or just ask for help in general so let me just say I am proud of you for taking this step!
In our first session together we will start with a brief introduction and then allow the space for you to share the challenges you have been facing. This will allow us to collaborate on an individualized plan just for you. Then we will discuss a plan for follow up sessions.
I have a passion for working with victims of trauma and helping them take their power back from what occurred and the symptoms related to what happened to them. I love meditation, mindfulness and spiritual practices, and will weave them in if appropriate and desired by my client. If this seems like a good match for you, let's get to work!
I love working with adults from the age of 18 and over. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about life or current circumstances.
In my therapy practice, utilizing trauma-informed care involves integrating core principles into every aspect of my work, from how I interact with clients to how I design treatment plans. What does this look like? I do my best to: Create a Safe and Supportive Environment Build Trust and Empowerment Recognize and Acknowledge Trauma Collaborate with Clients Practice Cultural Sensitivity
By incorporating Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy into my practice, I offer a structured, systematic approach to helping clients work through and heal from the effects of trauma. CBT empowers clients to confront their painful experiences, change maladaptive thought patterns, and regain a sense of control over their emotions and behaviors, ultimately promoting healing and resilience.
