Hi there. Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Sylvia Bikos, I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker, Clinical (LCSW-C). I received my Masters from university of Maryland School of Social Work. I worked at the inpatient and emergency department in the Psychiatric department where I worked with adults and children. I later transitioned to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) where I work with adult employees.
The first session involves me getting to you, building a rapport and listening to you. You share what you are comfortable sharing. I also ask questions about your past and present, the past questions are important as we are shaped and molded by our past experiences.
One of my greatest strengths has been building a relationship with the client, providing a safe environment and listening to the client's needs. I genuinely care about you as my client and your wellbeing, seeing you strive and living a life that is fulfilling and productive.
I work with both young adults and adults. We often struggle with day to day life issues and that is where I provide guidance on how to be productive in your life.
Cash - $140 per session

I have used CBT in my practice for more than 8 years. CBT has helped dozens of my clients by challenging their reoccurring thoughts and helping them manage their anxiety. In CBT, we recognize how your thoughts, your feelings, and your behaviors influence each other. As your clinician, you and I will use this knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressful life.

Sylvia always makes me feel better about myself after every session

Sylvia was very warm and welcoming. Coming into a therapy session you do not always know what to expect or how to articulate your feelings to a stranger. However, she created a safe space for me to feel comfortable. She was able to help my scattered thoughts become organized and make sense enough for her to help me. She was amazing.
