LPC, 17 years of experience
Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Masters from Marywood University and have been practicing for 17 years. I have been licensed since 2013. I help adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self-confidence, self-compassion, anger management and gender dysphoria. I am passionate serving the LGBTQ population. I have a certification in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
Clients can expect to have a thorough assessment of how they are functioning in all life areas and their environment, as we are all impacted by the people and surroundings we live in. Discussion of strengths and self-care will then be explored which are realistic to each patient.
I am an advocate for my clients and try to meet each person for who they are, their stage in their journey and how environmental and family systems impact the ability to function at your best. I keep up with current events, innovations, treatments and laws that will have an impact on my clients. I'm well versed in media, fandoms and seek understanding of client's interests to build rapport and to use analogies that will help to convey ideas shared.
I love working with adolescents and young adults with anxiety and depression. `I am well versed in working with the LGBTQ community, including individuals with gender dysphoria.

Krysten has been incredibly helpful in managing my anxiety. She consistently provides thoughtful insights that challenge my perspective in a healthy way, helping me gain understanding of different situations in my life more fully and respond with more clarity. I'm so grateful that she always works with me to suggest strategies on how to deal with these stressful situations.

I think Krysten was nice to work with, but I was looking for a bit more structure at the very beginning of our call.
