New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California with over eight years of experience supporting individuals and families through a variety of mental health challenges. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Bakersfield, and have since dedicated my career to serving diverse populations across multiple settings. Currently, I work as a school-based mental health provider, where I collaborate with educators, families, and students to promote emotional well-being and academic success. My previous roles include working as a substance abuse counselor for adults and as a children’s therapist in an outpatient community mental health agency.
In our first session together, we’ll take time to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, collaborative relationship. I’ll answer any questions you may have, review your intake forms or questionnaires, and talk through what brings you to therapy. Together, we’ll begin to explore your goals and outline a direction for our work, ensuring the process feels supportive and tailored to your needs.
I get that starting therapy can feel overwhelming and my goal is to make it feel as comfortable and judgment-free as possible. I’m here to create a safe space where you can talk honestly, feel supported, and work on the things that matter most to you. I take a compassionate and strength-based approach, which means we’ll focus not only on the challenges you’re facing but also on the strengths you already have. Whether you're dealing with stress, adjusting to new life situations, or just feeling stuck, we’ll work together to build a plan that feels right for you—at your pace.
I specialize in working with teens and young adults who are navigating life transitions, adjusting to new environments, or facing challenges such as stress, anxiety, and negative thinking. Many of my clients are looking to build healthier coping strategies and gain greater self-awareness. I’m particularly passionate about supporting individuals who are motivated for change but feel uncertain about how to get there. My approach is collaborative and supportive, helping clients feel empowered as they take meaningful steps toward personal growth and emotional well-being.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice as a therapist, I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to address a wide range of mental health concerns. I have applied this evidence-based approach in both outpatient mental health settings and within school environments as a school social worker. Across these roles, I support clients in identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. My work with clients often involves increasing their awareness of these patterns through psychoeducation and guided reflection. I incorporate techniques such as cognitive restructuring to help clients reframe negative thinking, and I teach practical tools like relaxation strategies and mindfulness to manage stress and improve emotional regulation.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a core part of my clinical approach. This method focuses on meeting clients where they are and working together in a supportive, non-judgmental way to explore their own motivation for change. It’s a collaborative process that helps strengthen self-awareness and build internal motivation, making change more meaningful and sustainable.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Since the start of my clinical practice, I have incorporated a solution-focused approach. This method has proven effective across diverse populations and a wide range of challenges. Solution-focused therapy emphasizes clients' strengths and their capacity for change, rather than dwelling on past issues. Through this approach, we work collaboratively to identify goals and move toward the client’s desired future, focusing on practical steps and achievable solutions.
Trauma Informed Care
In my work as a therapist, being trauma-informed is essential to supporting clients on their path to healing. I use a trauma-informed framework to recognize how past traumatic experiences can impact a person’s thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. This approach helps me create a safe, empowering environment where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. By honoring each individual's unique story and cultural background, I aim to foster trust, promote resilience, and support lasting change.
