New to Grow
Hello my name is Michelle Miele. I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Pennsylvania. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and am a Certified Trauma Professional. Helping those who struggle with anxiety, OCD and trauma is my passion. I believe that individual development and prosperity are possible for anyone who is ready for change. You do not have to go through life’s challenges alone.
During our first session you can expect relationship building. I want to learn about your passions, goals and relationships. I also want to learn what goals you would like achieve in therapy and how I can best support you.
I am dedicated to helping individuals grow and develop the skills necessary for emotional well-being. Recognizing that healing is not a linear process, my goal is to help bridge the gap between where you are today and where you want to be.
I specialize in helping teenagers and adults navigate difficulties with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I am passionate about helping clients challenge their fears and break the cycle of worry by providing them with the tools to manage stressors without relying on unhelpful habits. My practice is best suited for individuals who are ready to make lasting changes and live according to their true, authentic selves.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I have been practicing Exposure Response Prevention therapy for those primarily struggling with symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder. We will challenge the fears together and eliminate safety behaviors.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
We will look at your thoughts that cause stress and see if they are beneficial. Then we will practice new ways to think and make small changes step by step.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma focused CBT is a beneficial method for those who have experienced a traumatic experience. In my sessions I follow your lead and pace regarding processing the traumatic experience. I feel that it is a topic that should not be rushed and offer a slow approach.
Strength-Based
In times of need it is easy to lose sight in our strengths. I like to highlight the strength you already have within and guide you to solutions and problem solving skills for everyday life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
We will practice skills to engage in healthy relationships and manage intense emotions. We will practice mindfulness, emotional regulation and distress tolerance to feel more centered.
