(she/her)
My name is Katharine, or Katie, and I have been practicing clinical social work in community based settings for 9 years. I currently provide therapeutic services as a License Clinical Social Worker or LCSW. I started my career in New York City providing behavioral services to older adults facing eviction due to hoarding disorder. Once I moved to Los Angeles, I worked as a forensic therapist to individuals in and transitioning out of the criminal justice system. I currently reside in Los Angeles, California and provide tele-mental health therapy services. I work with adults who are seeking therapy to process and address mental health problems while utilizing behavioral skills to support their overall treatment.
I take a client-centered approach to working with individuals. In the first session, we will begin with a brief introduction and explore presenting problems and goals you would like to address in therapy. Importantly, I foster a safe an open environment for all of my clients. This means that we go at your pace, and I meet you were you are at. You will not be expected to divulge any information in the first session that you do not feel comfortable expressing.
I have worked in crisis environments throughout my entire career as a Clinical Social Worker. I am calm and level headed, and I approach each client with with empathy, understanding, and compassion. My style of interacting is also direct and collaborative. My strengths allow me to create a treatment plan tailored for your individual needs.
I have extensive experience working with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and mood disorders. Within the past three years, I have focused on treating adults with complex mental health and co-occurring disorders including substance use disorders. Most of my clientele are adults experiencing a degree of mental health problems, and are seeking to improve their quality of life.

It is so easy to talk with Katie. She allows me to be me. I don’t feel any kind of judgment, just support and a general understanding of where I’m coming from. Thank you.
