New to Grow
I am an ABCSW Board Certified expert psychotherapist licensed in multiple states, EMDR trauma treatment specialist, and New York University affiliated researcher with 17 years of experience helping people live happier and healthier lives. I have successfully assisted a diverse spectrum of clients heal the traumatic wounds of the past and unlock the limitless potential of the future. On the other side of trauma, I am also proud to offer assistance with performance enhancement therapy and executive coaching using the science of industrial-organizational psychology.
My style is relaxed and conversational. I want our meetings to be a safe space for you to heal, learn, and grow. There should also be opportunities for humor and joy in our work together as a necessary ingredient for a healthy rapport in service of achieving your therapeutic goals. In addition to EMDR, I am proud to offer attachment and trauma-informed therapies with the strongest scientific evidence base for treatment efficacy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
As an NYU research fellow in Primary & Behavioral Health Care Integration, I promote the whole-person approach to therapy because mental and physical health are interrelated. You and I will create a personalized treatment plan to meet your unique integrated wellness needs. I look forward to meeting you!
I consistently receive positive feedback from clients who benefited from my assistance with therapeutic goals relating to their experiences of adjustment difficulties, anxiety, attachment challenges, family and relationship issues, grief and loss, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma and complex trauma. As someone who also provides performance enhancement services, I have successfully worked with professional athletes, stage and screen actors, singers, and comics. I provide executive coaching to CEOs. I am also one of only a few providers who meet criteria for serving the unique needs of the intellectually gifted and talented communities.
We can use attachment-based therapy to learn about how our earliest relationships with our caretakers throughout childhood create a template for how we interact with ourselves and navigate interpersonal and romantic relationships in adulthood. This also informs how we may behave when we are parenting or working with children in the present tense based on how we were raised. If you struggle with trust, fear abandonment, or feel stuck in repetitive relationship patterns, attachment-based therapy can help. We will use our therapeutic alliance as a safe, supportive space to explore these dynamics. By experiencing a secure, non-judgmental bond in our sessions, you will learn to heal old relational wounds, resolve attachment insecurities, and build the confidence to form deeper, more fulfilling connections in your everyday life.
We can use CBT to examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact. In our sessions, we will work as a team to identify unhelpful thought patterns and break negative behavioral cycles that leave you feeling stuck. CBT is collaborative, practical, and forward-looking. Instead of just talking about the problem, I will give you concrete, actionable tools to manage anxiety, reframe stress, and navigate daily hurdles. Together, we will build a personalized toolkit you can confidently use outside of therapy to achieve meaningful change.
We can use DBT to help you find a balance between self-acceptance and actively working toward positive emotional change. The four core pillars of DBT focus on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Together, we will work with the mind and body to de-escalate overwhelming emotions, identify and manage triggers, experience moments of emotional dysregulation without escalating situations through reactive behavior, extinguish self-injurious patterns, and build healthier relationships with trustworthy people.
We can use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to facilitate the brain’s own natural healing process that already occurs during REM sleep. Painful memories or past traumatic events can sometimes get stuck in the brain, causing us to react to current stressors with old, intense emotions. Bilateral stimulation of the brain through gentle guided eye movements followed by verbalizing what we notice will help the brain to desensitize and reprocess trauma. EMDR can therefore uniquely alleviate symptoms of PTSD such as central nervous system hyperarousal, flashbacks, hypervigilance, and startle response.
We can use SFBT to identify your current strengths and use them to focus on more immediate solutions to your presenting problems. This is a type of therapy that moves quickly because it does not involve processing the past and the unconscious parts of the brain. First we identify the hurdles that exist between you and living a happier life. Next we work together to explore your existing resources, define your ideal future, and map out small, manageable steps to achieve your goals. This approach is collaborative, practical, and promotes efficiency.
