Hello there, my name is Brandon Ballantyne. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My clinical focus is in utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy with clients to alleviate various forms of mental and emotional distress. I provide supportive therapy to improve the understanding of internal relationships between thoughts, emotions, and actions. When our thoughts are recognized to be tangible elements, we realize the personal control we have over thinking better, feeling better, and coping in healthier ways.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session therapy objectives are identified through an inviting, conversational atmosphere concluding with both short term and long term solution focused recommendations. We will discuss elements of a comprehensive treatment plan which is personalized and unique to your clinical needs. Most importantly, significant effort will be provided into understanding how your personal history has impacted your patterns of thinking and feeling. In conclusion, success will be defined in practical terms, thus providing a measure to ensure that the therapy process is effective and productive.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I find it fulfilling to be able to contribute to the well being and positive growth of others. I believe that mental and emotional distress can interfere with those personal goals that are important to an individual's self fulfillment. My philosophy of conceptualizing symptoms of emotional distress as tangible elements that can be practically addressed and resolved; allows clients to realize that they have much more control over feeling better and living healthier. This process is professionally rewarding for me, and I view myself as a guide in my client's journey toward realizing their true individual potential.

My clinical approach fits particularly well with the needs of adolescents and young adults who are navigating life adjustments and psych-social changes as the development of flexible thinking allows for adaptive growth and healthier coping.

With therapy, sometimes it feels like you’re hearing what you need to hear in a cleshay way but when he offers me a solution/thought process to try and help an issue I have going on it does feel very direct/intentional and something applicable to my routine.

We had some connection issues due to my hardware and being in a very remote location, but Brandon was very professional and understanding and accommodating despite these challenges. I feel he listened to my issues and I'm hopeful he will be able to guide me to regain my mental strength that I am struggling to find on my own.
