My passion is to help individuals explore and begin to understand their mental health by helping them "connect the dots" of their lives. My mission is to help clients unravel the complexities of the human mind. I recognized the importance of delving into the past to illuminate the present and understand the “whys” behind the tangled web of thoughts and actions that shape our daily experiences. I am a very laid back therapist who provides a safe and nurturing space to explore your inner self. Please join me on this journey, where together, we can uncover the hidden truths, “connect the dots,” and have a deeper understanding of life.

Hi, thereI’m Katherine — Therapist, Deep Listener, and Occasional Metaphor Enthusiast. If you’ve landed here, chances are something in your life isn’t feeling quite right — maybe you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just plain exhausted from trying to hold everything together. First off, welcome. You don’t have to figure this out alone. My approach is a blend of psychodynamic therapy (looking at the deeper roots and patterns that shape who we are) with a healthy sprinkle of CBT (because sometimes our thoughts really do need a gentle fact-check). Think of it as exploring your emotional world and building some new tools for the journey. I’m here to help you connect the dots — between past and present, self-doubt and self-worth, fear and possibility — and to help you uncover the quiet confidence that’s already there (even if it’s been hiding under a pile of “shoulds” and “not good enoughs”). Therapy with me tends to include a bit of humor, a lot of compassion, and a belief that growth doesn’t have to feel like homework. Together, we’ll slow things down, get curious about what’s really going on, and build a life that feels more like “you” You don’t need to have the right words, or even know where to start. Just bring yourself — I’ll meet you there.

Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) currently based and practicing in Oregon, though with an active license in California as well. I attended California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) for graduate school and lived in the Bay Area for a decade before moving to Portland, OR shortly before the pandemic. I have over thirteen years of experience as a "generalist" therapist, though I specialize in supporting individuals in the midst of life transitions, including but not limited to: relationship challenges, moves to a new city or state, new or chronic medical diagnoses, career and work problems, spiritual questioning, transitions into the workforce or retirement. I do NOT work with couples at this time. While I consider the psychological theories behind my work, I hold them lightly in the room, believing most fundamentally in the importance of an adaptive, culturally-sensitive, non-judgmental stance with my clients. PLEASE NOTE: your chosen intake appointment time is subject to my final approval based on my shifting availability. I see clients on multiple platforms and am unable to sync all of my calendars in real time. Following the initial appointment, we will find a mutually agreeable meeting time and I will manage the booking on the Grow platform going forward, including rescheduling and cancellations. You will need to message me directly to cancel or reschedule your appointment. I request the courtesy of as much advanced notice as possible. I am not able to work with clients who cancel without 24 hrs advanced notice or no show more than twice.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Missouri rather than a city like Kansas City?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Missouri from Saint Louis to Springfield! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Missouri.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I’m" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
