Hello, I am Shari. Are you looking for someone you can feel safe to address your needs and not feel judged? Are you looking for someone authentic and supportive? Are you having difficulty finding someone who will be honest and direct? I work well with anyone who is motivated to start addressing their concerns right away. I believe finding the right therapist can be challenging, but it should not be a barrier to getting help. Finding a therapist should feel comfortable and natural. I am told I have a way of helping people feel as if they have known me before. I like to get an understanding of the source of your problem. Then together we explore how the source influences your thinking. People live life through their experiences which do not always serve us very well in today's time. I also believe in working from a holistic approach. Did you know our daily routines can prolong your recovery or cause mental instability? I have experienced being in a therapeutic relationship and believe in normalizing the need to get help in this way.

It is fair to say there are a lot of stressors in our society, some so large they can have a huge impact on how we enjoy and navigate our lives. I'm here to tell you it isn't all in your head, you're not alone, and it is ok to ask for help. I am a licensed clinical social worker offering virtual therapy to individuals in Louisiana and Texas. I utilize a client-centered approach, meaning you are the expert in your own life and I am here only to assist you in reaching your goals. Trauma-informed care is a very important part of the services I provide, as I specialize in working with survivors of trauma, with expertise in abuse and assault. I believe it is necessary to acknowledge traumatic experiences throughout our lives and how those experiences may shape our worldview. Trauma is incorporated into the majority of the work I do with clients, it looks different for us all but it exists in some capacity. I am lucky to have had opportunities in my career that have allowed me to expand my practice to include working with individuals experiencing chronic illnesses. I provide a space where folks with chronic illnesses can share openly about the confines of their illnesses and receive validation around those feelings, sometimes for the first time. Most of the time clients are having a very normal reaction to an abnormal situation, no one prepares us for the possibility of chronic illness and little support is available for those who experience it. Lastly, as a queer woman, it is important to me that I provide quality care for LGBTQ teens and adults. Too often, we cannot find providers who hold identities similar to our own. The last few years have allowed me to work with LGBTQ teens in my area and I have learned a great deal from them. I hope to continue this work for some time while growing my practice and providing quality care to anyone who is interested in working with me.

Hi there! My name is Chinh. If you’ve reached my page, chances are that your heart has been broken, you probably just had the umpteenth argument with your significant other, or you are just tired of the endless cycle of self-doubt, low self-esteem, and irrational thoughts/beliefs. Or possibly, you are here because of all of the above! Let me help you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Ph.D. in Counseling. I have years of experience as a social worker, working with adults, couples, and families. I use a strength-based and holistic approach to motivate and empower my clients to problem-solve new ways to create positive and lasting changes in their lives. I come from a culture that does not typically believe in mental illness. Emotional issues were either ignored or swept under the rug. I was taught growing up that it wasn't normal to want to talk about my feelings; showing any type of emotion was a sign of weakness. Because of my upbringing, my hope as a therapist is not only to help end the stigma associated with mental illness, but also help normalize it.

*** As a therapist and to increase the likelihood that therapy is effective, I recognize the importance of making sure a therapist is the right fit for a client and the issues that they are trying to address and work through. Therefore, it is my policy that potential clients have a FREE phone consultation up to 15 minutes with me prior to scheduling your initial session to further discuss your needs, my style, and to discuss my available time slots. You may schedule your free consultation by texting 225-308-1703 or emailing me at lakeytha@lgmrestorationwellness.org!*** As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I specialize in women's mental health working with women 18 yrs. and older. I believe every woman is unique! I believe in the power of transformation and restoration if one is willing to do the work. As women, we go through different phases of life and each phase may bring challenges that impact our mental and emotional well-being. Therefore, as a therapist specializing in women's mental health, my approach is holistic, acknowledging ALL the areas of the client's life that are impacting her mental and emotional well-being. My approach is to work towards the total woman (if so desired and as needed), one area at a time if necessary if it is contributing to her mental health challenges. My passion for working with women is to help my clients identify obstacles to her mental and emotional wellbeing and issues she may feel has been and continues to "hold her hostage" in her own life thus interfering with her day to day functioning. One of my sincerest desires as a therapist is to see my clients transform into the best version of herself according to her standards, not the standards of society! I am passionate about motivating and empowering women to embrace who they are, celebrating their strengths and uniqueness, and hopefully, simultaneously giving each client a fresh perspective on her life despite the obstacles and challenges she may face. Despite whatever mental and emotional challenges my clients face, whether it is anxiety depression, or adjusting to life transitions, I believe if they do the work, they can live a successful, productive life while being mentally and emotionally stable. Let's begin your journey to transformation and restoration-whatever that may look like to YOU!
