I am a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and believe in integrated mental health care to optimize your mental well-being. I accept clients with psychiatric mental illnesses across the lifespan and utilize evidence-based methods of care management. I am open-minded, compassionate, and excited to help my patients be their best. I believe in a holistic approach to care that incorporates medication, counseling, healthy eating, lifestyle changes, exercise, and psychotherapy into the treatment modalities. I am licensed to treat patients in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Washington State. I specialize in treating patients from adolescence to adulthood who are struggling with psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and mental health services including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia, eating disorders, ADHD, sleep-wake -Disturbances etc..
I value the importance of building a strong therapeutic alliance that provides the foundation for successful outcomes and long-term psychological well-being. My goal in every patient encounter is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and therapeutic environment that supports open dialogue and active participation. After the initial encounter with a patient, I expect the patient to gain a clear understanding of their mental health issues, the treatment options available, and the resources available. I am aware that there is no standard treatment method. Therefore, I offer individual, holistic care that combines evidence-based therapeutic interventions, medication management and psychotherapy. In addition, I will provide ongoing support and advice to the patient.
My greatest strengths are active listening and empathy. When dealing with my client, I am very open-minded and non-judgmental. It is clear to me that healing only takes place in a therapeutic environment. I welcome my clients and make them feel at home and ready to open up. I believe in providing my clients with the resources and information they need to actively participate in their care. I enjoy educating clients about their disease progression, risk factors, treatment options and disease prevention. I enjoy caring for patients with anxiety disorders, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, PTSD/trauma, OCD, ADHD/ADD, substance use, and sleep disorders
My practice utilizes evidence-based knowledge and techniques to diagnose and treat patients with mental illnesses such as anxiety, depression , PTSD and ADHD. I use medication management along with supportive talk therapy. Individuals benefit from a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses all dimensions of mental health and addresses the psychological and biological factors that contribute to their condition. This integrated approach of combining psychotherapy and medication offers the best chance for long-term recovery, improved functioning and overall well-being. The first visit focuses on building a therapeutic relationship and trust. I will empathize and your concerns will be discussed. By the end of the first session you will feel emotionally safe and treatment goals/plans will be formulated.
Faith-based counseling can provide additional support and build a stronger bond with the client. People with a religious background will benefit from returning to their roots. Its goal is to facilitate spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with God. It allows an individual to find healing through God and not through themselves or another person.
