I have been working in the mental health field since 2001. I began working in group homes, facilitating outpatient groups, and then decided to further my education in the mental health field. After obtaining my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I started working in substance use facilities, community mental health, and with people that are incarcerated at the local jail. I started working in child welfare and then started at the Child Protection Team. I was the Program Coordinator at the Child Protection Team, supervising therapists and providing individual and family therapy to victims and their families. My specialization is trauma and anxiety and I conduct trainings to several local agencies that work with trauma survivors. I am a member of the Florida Crisis Response Team. I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida and a licensed professional counselor in Colorado, Wisconsin, and Georgia. I primarily use CBT techniques to complete any treatment plan goals. I only offer video sessions.
I use the first session to gather information on why you are seeking services. We develop goals and a plan for treatment moving forward.
I establish rapport easily with clients. I give things to focus on each week that will move you towards your end goal. I focus a lot on thought process. If you want to make changes, the thought process needs to be included in that. I am able to identify thougt patterns quickly and get us focusing on the core issue.
I primarily use CBT but will pull from other modalities as the need arises.
Depending on the need of the client, I use solution focused to find quick relief from symptoms.
