Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in both West Virginia and Virginia. I graduated Liberty University in beautiful Lynchburg, Virginia and am happy to include or NOT include a faith based approach to your treatment. I specialize in working with adults and couples with a wide range of concerns ranging from healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, to individuals experiencing life transitions, parenting or those navigating co-parenting relationships and martial concerns. My goal is to assist you in reducing symptoms and improving your overall level of functioning and life satisfaction. It is important for you to know that I work on multiple telehealth platforms. To avoid getting double booked I only allow morning time slots for self booking/intake appointments. However, I have afternoon and evening appointments available for follow up appointments. These appointments I will book for you for the agreed upon day and time. If you are needing an afternoon or evening appointment for your intake, please message me before booking so that I can let you know what I have available.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will do introductions and I will collect some important information from you regarding present concerns as well as some background information. I'll need this information to form a treatment plan specific to you and your needs. Honestly, this session will not be a good representation of what follow up session will flow and feel like do to me needing to collect information. Follow up sessions feel more organic and person focused as we get to know each other better.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I really enjoy helping people. I feel honored to be a small part of your healing journey. I love working together with clients to find the root cause of their challenges and creating a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress and improved functioning and life satisfaction. I take a very collaborative approach to therapy. I also believe my life experiences give me an edge to not only be able to approach clients clinically, but through my experiences of being a mother of 5, a wife, and a complex trauma survivor. I've been in the trenches of life and can relate to how important and powerful the healing journey is. This is not just my career, this is my passion.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with adults in all areas of their lifespan from the college or young adult years to the later stages of life. Most individuals I work with have experienced traumatic experiences, many have experienced relationships with personality disordered parents and/or partners. I assist individuals in identifying cycles of abuse, feelings of shame, negative self talk and setting boundaries. It is not uncommon for me to have a client that comes for help with anxiety and depression and we discover life experiences that have lead to depressive and/or anxious thoughts and behaviors. I seek to assist clients in finding the root cause of these behaviors and then learn to manage and reduce them.

I really appreciated how she listened for true understanding, not just to respond. I felt heard and respected throughout the session, especially as we talked about my mom and my role as her caregiver. She also provided practical skills that I could immediately apply, which gave me a sense of direction and hope for making real changes.

Each time my husband and I meet with her I come away with a plan and a deeper understanding of myself. As far as couples therapy goes it's so nice because she doesn't choose sides at all, she shares with each person perspective and helps the good of the relationship. My husband was not excited about working with a therapist but he really enjoys these appointments and has led us to our relationship being healthy

I am able to talk with her about everything that goes on without judgment. I feel at ease. I’m able to come up with solutions and things I want to try and she gives good feedback.
