I'm a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years experience supporting children, teens, young adults, and families in school, community, office, and telehealth settings. I have specialized in helping people of all ages navigate health challenges, major life transitions, anxiety, depression, and complex trauma to discover a sense of clarity, resilience, and connection to who they are. In my private practice, I support adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or ready to work through parts of life that have become too heavy to carry alone. My style is warm and collaborative- I believe that healing begins when we feel seen, heard, and safe enough to explore what's been holding us back. Please note: Session availability is limited to Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Any additional availability may be offered on an as needed basis.
Your initial session will be different from future ones; this will be a brief time for us to become familiar with one another, discuss what brought you to therapy, and develop a plan about how treatment will move forward. Future sessions will be delivered in a way that best serves you and what you want out of treatment.
I believe that you are the expert on your life; therapy is your journey, your way. My role is to hold a safe, nonjudgmental space for you and provide support whenever you need to pause, backtrack, or move forward.

Change is hard. Experience a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication that is most supportive when ambivalence is high, confidence is low, desire is low, and importance is low. I will help you examine the situation at hand, the options for addressing it, and enact change.

Melissa does not jump to conclusions , does not judge and gathers lots of information before making any type of informed decision or suggestion. She shows patience and understanding. Her ability to accept me for who i am and not just a paycheck is what stands out to me most over prior therapists
