Hi! I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) practicing in Massachusetts. Most of my clients are young adults and adults, although I do have extensive experience working with children and adolescents as well. I'm here to support my clients to tune into their resiliency and intuition as they move toward what they want in life, as well as how to recognize and strengthen their communities of support.
In our first session, we'll learn about where each of us is coming from in being here today. I hope you'll feel comfortable orienting me to where you're at in your life in terms of your own self concept, relationships, and hopes, as well as what you see as your current obstacles. I also will want to hear about past experiences you've had with healthcare providers that were helpful and unhelpful.
I hold awareness that there are many institutional and systemic factors that contribute to or take away from our wellbeing that are out of our control, and I think it's important to name and validate that, as well as resist in the ways that we can. I also know that we each have choices that we make each day that can influence how we show up for ourselves and interact with the world we live in. I can be a partner in contextualizing your experience and identifying the offerings that are available to you for shifting deeper into your authentic self.
I love working with people who approach changes and challenges in their lives with pause and intention because they want their decisions to be in alignment with their integrity. After establishing a baseline of trust, I enjoy reflecting things back to my clients in an objective manner which guides them to make their own decisions. Do you think you could benefit from a shift in perspective, a reframe, or an adjustment of an inner narrative? Sometimes invitations and offerings to make subtle shifts can move us into more clarity and alignment.
The stories we hold about ourselves and others can drive our beliefs and behaviors - consciously or not. I strive to support my clients in building awareness of their current internal narratives. Where did these come from? Do you want to continue to hold them? Do you want to make adjustments or major shifts? What support do you need to do so?
I believe there is a false separation between mental health and physical health, and that all aspects of our health and wellbeing are in relationship with each other. Taking this stance allows for more opportunities to connect with and care for ourselves and to authentically engage in our relationships.
It is crucial that providers approach their work with care, openness, and humility. I lead with curiosity and see myself as a supportive guide in my clients' journeys toward knowing and living into their truest selves. I do not use pressure or control in my guidance - I want my clients to build skill and capacity to access their own intuition and exercise full agency in their lives and relationships.
