If you’re seeking a therapist who truly listens, understands, and validates your experiences, while also equipping you with the skills and tools to achieve emotional well-being, you’ve come to the right place. Hi, I'm Erin, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 5 years of therapeutic experience. I specialize in the person-centered approach, placing you at the heart of our therapeutic process. My goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you feel heard, valued, and understood. I received my master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, and I am currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology. Throughout my career, I have worked in various settings, including hospitals, schools, and outpatient clinics.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, my primary goal is for us to get to know each other and ensure we’re a good fit. I understand how crucial it is to find the right therapist. I’m here to explore your reasons for seeking therapy and to gather some background information, so we can start building a foundation for your journey towards healing and growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my warm and empathetic approach. I frequently check in with my clients throughout their journey to ensure we are working towards the right goals and addressing what you feel is most important. By actively listening and collaborating with you, I use these goals to set realistic and achievable objectives, ensuring that our work together is both meaningful and effective.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I specialize in the person-centered approach, placing you at the heart of our therapeutic process. My goal is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you feel heard, valued, and understood. By fostering a space of empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, I empower you to explore your thoughts and feelings freely. This approach helps you tap into your own strengths and resources, facilitating personal growth and self-discovery.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs, replacing them with more constructive and realistic ones. By working collaboratively, I guide you in developing practical skills and strategies to manage your symptoms and improve your overall well-being. CBT empowers you to take an active role in your treatment, fostering resilience and promoting lasting change.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

When appropriate, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to support individuals with social anxiety, phobias, OCD, or similar concerns. By gradually and gently exposing you to anxiety-provoking situations or thoughts in a safe and supportive environment, we work together to prevent compulsive responses. This process helps you build resilience, reduce anxiety, and break free from the cycle of avoidance and compulsive behaviors, paving the way for long-term recovery.
