Hi, I’m Kathy Rojas, LCSW. I am a bilingual English and Spanish-speaking therapist with nearly 20 years of clinical experience helping adults and students navigate anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship stress, burnout, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and practical. I work especially well with people who often look “fine” and high functioning on the outside while struggling internally with overwhelm, self-criticism, emotional exhaustion, or unresolved pain. I integrate evidence-based approaches including CBT, CPT, IPT, and trauma-focused interventions to help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I provide a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed therapy space where clients can explore difficult emotions without feeling judged or rushed. My approach balances emotional insight with practical strategies, helping clients better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and coping styles while building tools that support meaningful change in daily life. I tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs and integrate evidence-based approaches including CBT, CPT, IPT, and trauma-focused interventions. My style is supportive, conversational, and grounded, and I work at a pace that feels manageable and emotionally safe for clients.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work especially well with adults, college students, graduate students, and high-achieving professionals who are thoughtful, self-aware, and emotionally insightful, but often overwhelmed by anxiety, trauma, grief, chronic stress, or major life transitions. Many of my clients are people who have spent a long time “holding it together” for others while struggling privately with burnout, self-criticism, perfectionism, relationship stress, grief and loss, identity concerns, or the emotional impact of trauma or chronic illness. They are often highly capable on the outside but internally exhausted, emotionally stuck, or disconnected from their own needs. I particularly enjoy working with clients navigating: Trauma and PTSD-related symptoms Grief, loss, and complicated life transitions Anxiety, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm Chronic illness, medical stress, and identity changes related to health Relationship and attachment difficulties Academic or career-related stress and burnout Perfectionism, avoidance, and self-worth struggles Emerging adulthood and identity development My clients tend to value a therapy space that is warm, validating, practical, and emotionally honest. They are often looking not only for coping skills, but also for deeper understanding, meaningful change, healthier relationships, and a more sustainable way of living. I also work particularly well with clients who appreciate a balance of insight-oriented exploration and concrete, evidence-based tools. Many clients come to therapy wanting help making sense of patterns in their relationships, emotions, or trauma responses while also learning practical strategies they can apply in everyday life.
