Hey there! I'm Janelle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth therapy throughout California. Reaching out for support isn’t easy, so I want to start by acknowledging the courage it took for you to explore therapy. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, navigating grief, or struggling to be kind to yourself: you deserve to feel you have someone in your corner cheering you on. I provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you can unpack your experiences at your own pace. Together, we can explore the roots of emotional pain, work through loss, and cultivate self-compassion and resilience. My approach is supportive and collaborative, focused on helping you develop tools that empower you to reconnect with yourself and reminding you of your skills, strengths, progress and growth. Healing isn’t always linear, but it can begin with your vulnerability in taking this first step. I am excited and honored to be a part of your journey!

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Taking the leap to start therapy can be daunting and scary. I hope to provide a comfortable environment for us to get to know each other and to explore what concerns or issues have brought you to seek therapy. In our first session, you can expect me to review important policy information and then ask you questions about what life events or circumstances led you to therapy and to explore what you hope to gain from having therapeutic support.

My therapy style is unique because I fully embrace a strengths-based and compassionate approach, in which I hope to help you be kind, empathetic, and loving towards yourself. I will always bring awareness to your progress, growth, skills, and strengths so that you may remain empowered throughout our entire experience together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with teens and young adults that are experiencing anxiety, depression, and major life changes, or struggling to cope with traumatic experiences from their pasts. I am extremely passionate about helping those that have suffered a loss and are struggling with grief. I also enjoy working with self-identified “people-pleasers” and “empaths” who struggle with setting boundaries, protecting their energy, and trusting their intuition.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

In my practice, I use mindfulness-based therapy to help my clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts and emotions without judgment. This approach helps me to empower my clients to better manage anxiety, depression, and difficult life experiences with clarity and self-compassion, while also being fully present in life's most enjoyable moments.

Compassion Focused

I use Compassion-Focused Therapy to help people who struggle with self-criticism, shame, or feeling 'not good enough.' Together we will work on building a kinder, more understanding inner voice and finding ways to feel safer and more supported emotionally. This is done in hopes of helping my clients face challenges with more confidence, care, and emotional strength.

Somatic

I use somatic therapy to help clients connect with what their body is feeling, to release pent-up emotions stored in the body in healthy and constructive ways, and to help them feel more grounded, safe, and in control of their body and emotions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected, to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, and to work on more balanced ways of thinking.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My primary approach is to consistently remain strengths-based and client-centered by always reminding you of your progress, growth, skills, and strengths and by treating you with unconditional respect and kindness. I strive to always be empathic, validating, and an active listener so that you feel heard and understood.
