About me

Many of the struggles we experience as adults, whether in our relationships, our confidence, or our sense of purpose, begin with beliefs we formed long ago about ourselves and the world. While those beliefs may have helped us navigate earlier seasons of life, they can quietly keep us confused, disconnected, and living as someone we’ve learned to be rather than who we truly are. I believe therapy is an opportunity to gently uncover those patterns, heal the wounds beneath them, and reconnect with your authentic self. Whether you’re navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, anxiety, grief, or simply feeling that something no longer fits, our work together is focused on creating meaningful, lasting change, not just managing symptoms. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with adults and couples who are ready to better understand themselves and create healthier, more fulfilling relationships. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply integrative, combining insight-oriented psychotherapy with practical, future-focused tools that help clients move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Individual Therapy Our first session is longer than the rest, usually 75-90 minutes rather than the standard 50-60, because there's a lot of ground I want to understand before we start working together. I'll ask about your history, what brought you to therapy now, and the moments that have shaped where you are, but this isn't an interview with a script. Think of it as space to talk freely about your life, with me asking questions to help fill in the picture as we go. You don't need to arrive with a polished story or know exactly what you want to say, however you show up is fine. I take detailed notes during this session so that I can hold your history accurately going forward, not to evaluate you. Before we start, I'll walk you through confidentiality and what to expect from working together, and most important, you're welcome to ask me anything too. By the end, you'll have a sense of how I work and we'll start to name what you're hoping to change. The fuller plan for how we'll work on it comes together over the next couple of sessions. Couples Therapy Starting couples therapy can feel like a big step, often one partner has wanted this for a while, and the other has just agreed to try it. My approach is called Dialogue Therapy, developed by Polly Young-Eisendrath, and it follows a structured process designed to help me understand your relationship quickly and accurately, while also giving you both a live experience of how you communicate. Our first session runs 60 - 90 minutes and has a few distinct parts. We begin with you and your partner talking directly to each other , not to me, about whatever feels most present for you right now. I'm listening closely, but this part is between the two of you. From there, I'll ask each of you six structured questions designed to help me understand what's brought you to therapy and where things currently stand. These aren't casual conversation-starters; they're specific questions I've found reveal the shape of a relationship efficiently and honestly. Once you've each answered, I'll ask you to turn back to each other and talk about what you heard in each other's answers. Hearing your partner's answers, and then discussing them together in the room, often surfaces things that don't come up in ordinary conversation at home. I'll close the session with a summary, what I understood from everything you shared, and I'll offer a lightly-held hypothesis about a pattern, in which each of you may be unconsciously placing so

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My work is informed by more than a decade of clinical experience, as well as by my own journey of healing from the kinds of everyday childhood wounds that can quietly shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. That experience allows me to meet clients with compassion, curiosity, and a genuine belief that lasting transformation is possible. In addition to my clinical training, I have advanced training in Dialogue Therapy for couples, Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Milton Erickson-inspired clinical hypnotherapy, and the transformational methodologies of Calling in “The One” and True You developed by Katherine Woodward Thomas. I also hold a Master’s degree in Theological Studies and Education from Harvard Divinity School, an experience that continues to shape my appreciation for the deeper questions of meaning, purpose, and human connection. If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply, heal old patterns, and begin living from a place of greater authenticity, freedom, and connection, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who can recognize their own part in the patterns they want to change. They're willing to do the work by showing up, engaging collaboratively, and giving me honest feedback so I can tailor our work together to what they actually need. I especially love working with individuals and couples navigating the "third act" of life. It's that stretch after the major life-building tasks (raising children, building a career, caring for aging parents, have largely wrapped up. This might look like reigniting their own relationship, renegotiating the relationship with an adult child, starting a new career, or simply asking "who am I now, and what do I want going forward?" One version of this that I feel especially called to work with is that of mothers reinventing themselves after 20-25 years spent raising and launching their children into adulthood. Many arrive feeling lost, bereft, or unexpectedly angry, facing a future they didn't quite plan for, without a clear career path or emotional scaffolding to build their own fulfillment. I help these women rediscover who they are outside of the caregiving role that has defined them for so long.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I use psychodynamic to help client understand childhood wounds and gain insight into how these would affect their adult life.

Positive Psychology

I use positive psychology to address resources that client has and develop a positive possible future by not identifying with the old beliefs and patterns that sabotage and maintain the client’s sense of victimhood

Couples Counseling

I use Dialogue Therapy, developed by Dr. Polly Young-Eisendrath, to help couples build three core skills: speaking for yourself, listening mindfully, and staying curious about your partner. Drawing on psychoanalytic, mindfulness, and psychodrama techniques, I guide couples through difficult conversations — helping them step out of blame and shame, understand each other more deeply, and rediscover love and connection."

Existential

I use Existential Therapy to help clients explore the deeper questions that often sit beneath anxiety, depression, grief, or feeling "stuck" — questions about meaning, freedom, connection, and mortality. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, this approach looks at how we respond to the fundamental conditions of being human, and how avoiding these questions can quietly limit our lives. Together, we'll explore what authenticity means for you — living in alignment with your own values — and work through change, loss, or uncertainty with greater clarity and purpose. This approach is especially helpful for those navigating grief, illness, identity shifts, or a persistent sense of emptiness, particularly when it feels like something more than a specific diagnosis is at play.
