I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field. I received my Masters from Widener University and am based out of Pennsylvania. I am a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and served as both a 19k (M1 Armor Crewman) and 11b (infantry). I am passionate about helping others to find their strengths and empower them on their recovery journey. Therapy can be scary, exciting and challenging and I am eager to work with you throughout the process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be focused on building a therapeutic alliance that makes you feel safe and secure. I want to get to know you and spend time making this experience what YOU want it to be. We will identify your goals and what you want to achieve in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that my greatest strength lies in my focus on the individual in therapy. We are all so unique, and I will tailor my focus on building a strong foundation based upon your individual needs. You will not be judged, but instead encouraged to explore. I will always be honest in our interactions and will protect the confidentiality of our sessions. I will provide a safe and secure therapeutic space for you to be fully engaged.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is utilized to identify the situations/triggers that impact our thoughts and emotions and how they impact our behaviors. This process can aide in discovering unhealthy core beliefs which impact our rules and assumptions, therefore modifying the very lens in which we view the world. Once identified, cognitive restructuring exercises will be utilized to aide in developing more rational thoughts.

Motivational Interviewing

Used to draw out perspectives and ideas on experiences of an individual in treatment. Helps to deepen the understanding of presenting problem and strengthen the therapeutic alliance through increased understanding.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This method focuses on current strengths and resources to aide in solving the immediate problem at hand. This method focuses on realistic solutions using a solution-focused method, rather than the traditional problem-focused method.

Narrative

Everyone has a story or stories that they tell themselves about experiences in their life. This story (narration) is not always healthy or rational. Through narration we can re-write and re-frame your story to be empowering and change the cycle that has been repeated.
