My name is Kareem Boles, PMHNP-BC. I received my master’s degree in nursing at the University of South Alabama in 2021; and I became board certified as a licensed nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2022. I have experience in a variety of settings since 2016 including intensive care, correctional facilities, long-term care, and outpatient services. My clinical experience has given me a passion for teaching and spreading mental health awareness in minority communities as well as high risk populations regarding all age groups, religions, and cultures. I have dedicated my career to providing great quality of care to patients in all age groups living in rural areas and low socioeconomic environments.
During our first session, my main goal is to understand and learn my patients as a person. I want to learn the person separate from the disorder, and how I can tailor their care plan according to their mental health needs.
My greatest strengths as a provider is my 10 years experience as a nurse in various clinical settings including intensive care, long-term care, correctional/prison, supervisor/management, wound specialist, and psychiatric inpatient care. Now as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I remain compassionate and empathetic towards my patients. I'm skilled in emotional intelligence as well as effective communication when communicating with my patients.
I'm experienced and best positioned to serve mood disorders, ADHD, and anxiety disorders in all age groups. Also, as a man and person of color I've been successful in treating many cases involving men from ages 18 to 90 years old as well as minority patients of all ages.

As a provider, I don't believe in pushing medications or treatment plans onto a patient. My patients are in control of their care plan, and I'm here to assist them as best as I can with medication management and compassionate care. My main focus is to understand my patient's individual lifestyles, so that I can treat their symptoms according to their individual needs.

Kareem was very insightful and actually listened to my concerns. I felt comfortable explaining what I was going through without feeling judged. He took the time to explain different solutions and opened the floor for me to ask questions and talk through the best options for treatment. This was the first time in a very long time that I felt heard and like my concerns were actually addressed in full.
