Hello/Hola, and Welcome. I'm Jessica Monicco, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing therapy in both English and Spanish. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are—without judgment, without having everything figured out, and without feeling like you have to carry life's challenges alone. Aquí estoy; I'm here to help.

I am a bilingual Latina psychotherapist, committed to providing a safe and welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions and life experience.

For the past 10 years, I've worked in the mental health field across medical social work, child welfare, and outpatient psychotherapy. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, caregiver stress, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I believe therapy is most effective when it feels genuine. My style is warm, collaborative, and candid. I value honesty, authenticity, and creating an environment where you feel safe exploring difficult emotions while also being encouraged to grow. I balance compassion with practical tools that help you create meaningful, lasting change. As a bilingual therapist, I understand that culture, family, and personal values can shape our experiences. Rather than making assumptions, I take the time to understand your unique story and tailor therapy to your goals. My work incorporates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based interventions. Seeking therapy takes courage, and you've already taken the first step by being here. Whether you're working through a difficult season or looking to better understand yourself, I'd be honored to support you as you move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life.

First session

If you decide to schedule your first session with me, we'll spend that time getting to know each other. You can expect me to ask a lot of questions—not because I'm interrogating you, but because I genuinely want to understand your story, what brings you to therapy, and what you're hoping to gain from our work together. There's no pressure to have everything figured out or know exactly where to start. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported as we begin building a plan that fits your unique needs and goals.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with people in a genuine and down-to-earth way. I bring warmth, empathy, humor when appropriate, and candidness into my sessions. I will listen and validate your experience, but I will also ask questions, offer a different perspective, and gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My years of experience across mental health, medical social work, child welfare, and psychotherapy have taught me that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I meet people where they are and focus on what they need—not where I think they “should” be. I want you to leave our sessions not only feeling heard, but also with greater insight, practical tools, and something meaningful to carry with you into your everyday life.

Thank you so much for bringing me back from some serious life challenges. I went from feeling defeated and filled with unbearable pain to making plans and seeing the light again.
