I use an integrated approach to meet each of my clients’ needs. I value the client/therapist relationship and I honor the balance and quality in this relationship. I do specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy which is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy. I want to help clients to find a life worth living, learning to change behaviors, emotions, and thoughts that cause chronic distress. I truly believe that clients want to improve, and I am the guide that will walk side-by-side to them on their journey. I make a commitment to all my clients that I will help them gain a better understanding of how their behaviors, emotions and thoughts are linked to problems in their life. I want to provide clients with the knowledge and skills to manage their own emotional and mental health, and ultimately reach their life goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is introductory (getting to know each other), informative (learning the history of what brought you into therapy), and involves setting treatment goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, my greatest strengths are listening closely to my clients so as to understand their current distress and struggles, how their past has impacted them, and giving them the tools to cope and manage their future effectively with greater resilience.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used broadly for clients to understand the dynamics and connection between a situation or event that occurs, thoughts and feelings about this situation, and our behavior or actions in response to our thoughts/feelings.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT for clients that have difficulty regulation their emotions. However, DBT can be applied and useful for many individuals. It teaches skills for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Interpersonal

I use interpersonal therapy for depression because it looks at the primary relationship in that person's life (spouse, partner, etc.) and focuses on improving this relationship. Thus, interpersonal therapy positively impacts the individual's mood and reduces depression.
