I am a dual-board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 8 years of knowledge. I initially graduated from Walden University as a Family Nurse Practitioner with my master’s degree in 2016. I have worked in different healthcare settings including acute care settings, post-acute care, outpatient, substance abuse, and urgent care. Given the high demand for mental health practitioners, I worked in mental health clinics, residential organization to manage behavioral health care as a provider and also in skilled nursing facility. I returned to school for my Post-Master of Science in nursing certification at Wilmington University in 2023 as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to practice fully autonomous.
During the first session with me as a mental health clinician, clients can expect the first visit with establishing a therapeutic relationship, building a connection, gathering essential information, and setting the stage for the treatment process.
My greatest strengths of a mental health provider is my ability to communicate effectively, show empathy, solve problems, actively listen, and respect the diversity of my clients.
As a mental health practitioner, I am best positioned to serve clients who are seeking counseling and treatment for mental health disorders. My role involves maintaining a professional yet empathetic approach, creating a comfortable and supportive environment for clients, and upholding the confidentiality of client information. I am equipped to work with individuals, groups, or families to address a wide range of mental health concerns, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, stress, and behavioral disorders. I also possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to provide counseling, therapy, and support to help clients overcome their mental health challenges and improve their overall well-being. My approach is tailored to the unique needs of each client, and I am committed to promoting optimum mental health and providing compassionate care to those in need.
The therapy is used to focus on providing emotional support and practical advice to individuals dealing with various mental health issues. It also helps to alleviate distress, enhance coping mechanisms, and improve overall functioning. It is used in mental health practice to build rapport and trust, validation and affirmation, emotional support, problem-solving and coping skills, and psychoeducation.
As a Christian counseling treatment we offer a faith-based therapy which includes integrating spiritual, religious, and theological principles with psychological care to address mental health symptoms, condition and disorder. The therapy is also used to help individuals, couples, and families overcome emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges while incorporating their Christian faith into the healing process. It is also used to provide a holistic approach to treatment, addressing the emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of a person's well-being. Other variety of services, include behavioral modification therapy, pastoral counseling, and other therapeutic techniques that are aligned with Christian beliefs.
