I offer what feels like a unique perspective in this field as a black male counselor with 16 years of experience. I am biracial and enjoy working with people of color and Caucasians of any age looking for help with issues including depression, anxiety, identity issues, social problems, life direction and many others. I also enjoy working with couples of any age and type. I prefer to utilize the Strengthening Families Program. An evidence-based practice that has fantastic material related to thought management, symptom/feelings management, communication skills, and life/family structure. I highlight the importance of rest, nutrition, and exercise for anyone trying to get better at anything or trying to be more healthy. I am person-centered and like to make sure our sessions flow well and our conversations are enjoyable.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I want to get to know about you and share a bit about myself. I'm interested in in why you wanted to schedule a session, your preferences, your history, your experiences with symptoms, and your goals. I want to share about my history, my thoughts about what I can contribute, how we can brainstorm together to create strategies, and how to live healthy and consistent regarding rest, nutrition, and exercise.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I prefer to utilize the Strengthening Families Program. An evidence-based practice that has fantastic material related to thought management, symptom/feelings management, communication skills, and life/family structure. I am a Certified Brain Health Professional.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being a biracial male who has struggled with his own identity issues I enjoy helping others win their own struggles with the same. I enjoy couples counseling, helping two people put aside their pasts and move forward, improving communication skills, healing wounds, and when necessary helping to set and clarify boundaries so that a breakup can occur as cleanly as possible. I both have experience and derive joy from helping couples who are not intimately together co-parent well and respect each other's boundaries.
