"It all starts with the mind!" CBT is the basics. With this treatment method I assist clients with identifying and replacing their negative thoughts, beliefs. Next, we tap into other modalities to assist with establishing the long-term and short-term outcomes client's want to achieve.
Being a Trauma-Informed Care therapist I understand and consider the pervasive nature of trauma and promote environments of healing and recovery rather than practices and services that may inadvertently re-traumatize my clients.
Through Motivational interviewing I assist clients with resolving ambivalent feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior. It is a practical, empathetic, and short-term process that takes into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes.
