Greetings. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 25 years of professional experience in clinical and educational environments. I obtained my Master's degree in counseling from North Carolina A&T State University. As a mental health therapist, I am dedicated to empowering individuals to identify their strengths, cultivate healthier coping mechanisms, and enhance their overall well-being, health, and quality of life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Congratulations on your decision to live your best life! Do you feel lost, stuck, or misunderstood? Are you struggling with willpower or lacking the tools to implement your plans? Does your life feel out of control? I am here to help you learn the tools you need to create the life you deserve. I am ready to guide you to discover tools to navigate life's challenges and live the life you deserve. During our initial session, we will take time to get to know each other and discuss your therapy needs. I will conduct an intake assessment to gather information about your current symptoms, treatment history, family and social background, strengths, and any barriers you may face. Together, we will create a plan that outlines your goals and the course of treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It is my style to be warm and interactive in my therapy sessions. I believe in treating people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. As a counselor, my goal is to empower clients to resolve issues by teaching them life skills. I strive to create a supportive environment for my clients to express their feelings and emotions. I utilize various techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and brief solution-focused counseling, to assist my clients in gaining insight into their issues and working towards achieving their goals.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-focused brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused approach incorporating positive psychology principles and practices. It helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. The strategy focuses on the future and client exceptions while harnessing their strengths and resources.
