I am licensed professional counselor in the Arizona, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington. The helping profession which is often referred to as therapy or counseling has been my life-long goal. My desire has made me a patient, attentive, and non-judgmental listener and has shaped my approach to understanding clients’ needs better. I am also supportive and seek positivity in every situation presented. I thrive to make clients feel safe including even reluctant clients to find their own way during treatment but also help clients to learn how to take personal responsibility to take charge of their behavior. I facilitate, encourage, empower, and help the client discover their potential. I hold a master’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in mental health counseling and am a licensed professional counselor in both PA and New Jersey with 10 years of experience helping children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am a multicultural counselor who believes that endogenous and exogenous factors can control people behavior.
In the first session, I introduce myself, expectation of how I and the clients should behavior while meeting online. I like to provide assurance of professional behaviors during sessions. Clients has the opportunity to talk about what brought them therapy in the first place. Together we set goals and objective and if necessary assign homework. We then set expectation for future meetings.
I have been working the therapeutic or counseling field for 11 years and have come to realize that clients' issues or concerns and clients' strengths and weakness drive my desire to engage. In others I am patient to listen and like to have conversation around the presented issues.
I love working with young people, couples, youth, adults and people of diverse backgrounds. Issues like settling conflict, managing anger, anxiety, career review and reset, depression, and relationship building on solid foundation are things that fascinate and or intrigue me. In therapy, I like to meet my clients where they are and acknowledge their inside factor, to eventually bring about healing. I do not aim to prove my clients wrong but help them find their own way out of their self-entanglement or damaging belief. No one approach fits all clients. The therapeutic alliance or the client-therapist relationship will become the greatest change agent.
I use this treatment method with other treatment method. The premise is that the way people behave or treat themselves contribute to how the think and how they act. To bring about change, we need to change core belief system.
I believe that not one method fits all client's situation. Different life experiences lead to different behavioral patterns that can cause change in perception and reaction. On the need of the client different methods are applied individually or in an combined approach.
